Locust Hill, Retreat Road, Near Vincentown
Locust Hill was built c.1830 by John S. Irick, replacing the earlier brick home he inherited from his father, William Irick, 2nd, that had been built on the site when the Irick family first settled in the Vincentown area in the in the 1780s.  The photograph is estimated to be from the 1860-70s. In the foreground are Gen. Irick (standing) and his friend Col. Timothy Bryan (seated).  In the background are Mrs. J. S. Irick (black dress) and Mrs. Margaret Ann Irick Burr light dress), the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.S Irick.
