Friends Meeting-House, Main Street ,Vincentown
This photograph shows the brick Friends Meeting House in its original state. This building was constructed in 1813 to replace an earlier meeting house that stood in the same location. The lower picture shows a 1827 survey the two acres of land deeded to the Friends in 1781 by Anna Leeds, widow of Vincent Leeds. Gen. John S. Irick later purchased about half of the land for use as his lumberyard.
The 1813 Meeting House was purchased in 1911 by the Vincentown Grange for use as their hall. They subsequently added a rear kitchen and a second floor.
